Our Customers are Climate Change Heroes

Solar power is considered a “renewable energy source” which means it doesn’t rely on the burning of fossil fuels to generate usable energy. Fossil fuels, in addition to being expensive and a limited resource, also cause the climate change.  According to the EPA, the government organization in charge of monitoring and reporting on such things, “Greenhouse gases act like a blanket around Earth, trapping energy in the atmosphere and causing it to warm. This phenomenon is called the greenhouse effect and is natural and necessary to support life on Earth. However, the buildup of greenhouse gases can change Earth’s climate and result in dangerous effects to human health and welfare and to ecosystems.”  Furthermore, they offer the dire portents that “Our Earth is warming. Earth’s average temperature has risen by 1.4°F over the past century, and is projected to rise another 2 to 11.5°F over the next hundred years. Small changes in the average temperature of the planet can translate to large and potentially dangerous shifts in climate and weather.”

That’s terrifying.

The solution is to use less fossil fuels. Once people were mocked for hybrid vehicles (who remembers the Smug Alert! South Park Episode set in, where else, San Francisco?) and now those people are considered the norm.

The next logical step in this evolution of perception is the widespread adoption of solar technology for residential. While to switching to solar is easier than most people realize (basically the equivalent of switching from cable to dish, see  infographic ) there are still a lot of misconceptions, myths and fear around solar.

What is a hero if not someone who conquers fear to do what’s best for the world?

Our customers are heroes. They took the time, effort and financial investment (although, really the math of solar works out in most people’s long term financial favor at this point) to battle the doomsday predications of global climate change.  They decided that change begins at home and that doing the right thing was worth a little extra effort. For that we applaud you as heroes.

Thank you for making the world a better place. Thank you for choosing to let us help you do it. Thank you for not waiting, for acting. Thank you for doing what you can to help.
